Chris Hawker attends signing of new patent legislation by President Obama
In September Chris Hawker, Founder and President of Trident Design, received a personal invitation from the United States Patent and trademark office (USPTO) to attend the signing of the America Invents Act (AIA).This new law will switch U.S. from the present “first-to-invent” system to a “first-to-file” system for patent applications filed on or after March 16, 2013. Chris traveled for the day to Alexandria’s, Thomas Jefferson High School and watched as President O’bama signed the new bill into law. This is very important legislation and it is a good idea for inventors to familiarize themselves with these exciting new changes.
